Cherry- CIP bingo!- 13.5.21
Cherry class loved their literacy lesson today. We learnt new CIP words for our new literacy unit- letters. We are writing letters home as Roman soldiers who have marched over to Britain to grow the empire!
We first had to find our partner who had the matching CIP word or definition. It was challenging as we came across words we had never heard of before, but we showed resilience and kept persevering.
Then, we played BINGO! This tested our listening and memory skills but we had a lot of fun.
Today, Cherry class were revisiting how to bridge through 10 using multiple methods. This was something we have been finding challenging, so we’ve reflected and decided to spend another day learning about it. We worked collaboratively with our partners to understand how to use different methods to solve the problem. Today, it was more important to understand the method than knowing the answer.
Cherry class were exploring expanded noun phrases today. We are going to be writing our own myths next week, so this was a perfect opportunity to practice using expanded noun phrases. We were very creative and were able to use powerful adjectives to describe our nouns. When we were confident with our phrases, we wrote sentences remembering not to write a verb between our noun and preposition. Can you write any more expanded noun phrases?
Today, Cherry class became Roman Gods and Goddesses. We are writing myths as part of our new topic and to help us understand the structure and features of a myth we created freeze frames based on the myth of Proserpine and Pluto. We had a lot of fun working collaboratively and we are excited to create our own myths. Can you remember what happens with Proserpine and Pluto?
Today, Year 3 had their class parties to celebrate all the birthdays that have happened this term. We ate party food, showed off our dance moves and played with our friends. We always look forward to this time of term. We had a lot of fun today celebrating parties and breaking some of the rules!
Today, Cherry class used collaboration, relationships and empathy to understand and discuss what makes a friend. We talked about if there was a difference between best friends and a friend. Then, we created drama pieces about what a kind friend looks like. Lots of our dramas showed friends listening carefully, solving problems, being kind and spending time together.
Today, we had a class competition based on year 3/4 spelling words. We worked collaboratively to choose the correct spelling from multiple choice questions. We needed to be speedy and accurate to hatch our monsters. We loved this so much, we played 4 rounds before going home. We can’t wait to play this again soon!
In maths today, we compared different lengths in metres and centimetres. We discussed when this skill would be useful or where we might have seen different lengths being measured- sporting competitions and the Olympics. We then went outside and had a competition of who could throw a beanbag the furthest. We had to use a metre stick to measure the distance in centimetres and metres. After that, we had to compare the distances before deciding who came 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
Year 3 have been exploring homophones today. Our main focus was understanding which ‘to’, ‘two’, ‘too’ and ‘there’, ‘they’re’, ‘their’ to use. We even recapped some of the previous homophones we have looked at. We marched, clapped and tapped our heads to spell the correct homophone for the sentence. We had a lot of fun doing this and we can’t wait to learn more about homophones.
This afternoon, year 3 began their new topic of Rocks, Relics and Rumbles. We became geologists as we studied a range of rocks to find out if they were metamorphic, sedimentary or igneous. We first used our excellent observations skills on the rock’s appearance, then we used wire to investigate if the rock was hard or soft. Finally, we used pipettes to drop water to test if the rock was permeable or impermeable. All of these tests led us to discovery the rock type. We had a lot of fun and we’re excited to learn more about our topic.
This afternoon, year 3 were lucky to take part in a virtual pilates session. We enjoyed taking part, but we especially loved the plank competition! Have a look at how much fun we had.
Year 3 have become news reporters this week as we interviewed historians about wealth and power in the Bronze Age. We had a few technical difficulties, but after showing resilience we have produced a piece of work we are proud of. We hope you enjoy our news reports!

Year 3 have been exploring how humans in the Neolithic area created cave art. We learnt that they used animal hair, sticks and their fingers as paint brushes. They also crushed up bones, rocks, wood and charcoal into powders before mixing them with animal fat and water to create paint. We created our own cave art painting using mud and charcoal mixed with water. We were resourceful using sticks, pine needles and stones as our tools!
The children who have been in school this week have become archeologists! We discussed what archeology is and what an archeologist is before walking down to our diggin area. We were on the lookout for anything that might have told us about what life could have been like in the Stone age. We were very careful using spades to dig out the objects before cleaning them with our brushes. We found some items that were old and some items that were made more recently. We had a lot of fun!
Today in French, Cherry explored how France celebrated Christmas. We found it interesting that a yule log in France is a special log that is put on the fire so if Mary and baby Jesus needed a place to stay there would be somewhere warm for them. We also found out that in some areas of France it is a tradition to have 13 desserts as part of their Christmas meal.
After learning about France and their traditions, we began using our knowledge of French to create Christmas pictures. We use our French numbers, colours and shapes to help us. If we were unsure what a French word meant, we used our learning value resourcefulness to figure it out by using books and bilingual dictionaries.
Today, Cherry class became engineers and built their go karts! First, we had to think about the purpose of our karts and how they would work. Once we had gathered up all of our materials it was time to start building! Two at a time, we cut wooden dowel to the length of our boxes so we could attach wheels. If we weren’t cutting our dowel, we were decorating our karts and letting our imaginations flow. We can’t wait to test these out in our next science experiment!
Today, Cherry had a lot of fun crafting and creating. In the morning, we designed and created spinning tops. We discussed the best ways to create our spinning tops and whether the disc would work better at the bottom or the top of the cocktail stick. After experimenting with different designs, we soon discovered that a shorter cocktail stick with the disc close to the bottom worked the best.
In the afternoon, we creating christmas decorations out of wire. We learnt that using different forces we could bend and twist the wire into different shapes.
Finally, Mrs Jeffery kindly brought in an embossing machine which allowed us to stamp different patterns into paper. We thought it was a lot of fun and it is something we would like to do again in the future.

This week, we started our new topic- Mighty Metals! To introduce our topic, we investigated what forces were needed to make different apparatus on the fit trail move. We discussed that our legs were doing most of the hard work pushing and pulling to make the fit trail move. We even found a piece of equipment that required us to twist! What objects around your house need a force to move? Can you identify which force it is?
As part of our revist to Land Ahoy, we have been designing pirate flags. We learnt about what different symbols represent on flags before having a go ourselves. We first drew a draft of our flags on plain paper before block printing them! We had a lot of fun, perhaps you can have a go at home. This afternoon, Cherry have been working in small groups to research and create a poster about oceans. They have had to use many of our learning values including collaboration, relationships and resourcefulness. We learnt about where our ocean can be found, what creatures live there, what the climate is like and we found out three interesting facts we would like to share with our peers. Later in the week, we will finish our posters and then present what we found to the rest of the class!
Year 3 have been set new home learning that can be accessed through the Google Drive. The homework is based on our new topic (Metals) that we will start next week!

This afternoon, Cherry class were learning about continents. We have been learning about them all week but today had to match the correct continent picture to the correct word. We were able to look at the different continents and spot different shapes that made that continent up. It was quite a challenging task because we had to make sure the pictures were the correct way for us to make a guess but we were resilient until we matched the cards up correctly. We had a lot of fun and we are enjoying learning about the world!
Cherry class have been looking at expanded noun phrases. Before we could begin writing expanded noun phrases, we had to understand what a noun was. We then put the nouns into a noun phrase before adding a bit of extra information to create an expanded noun phrase.
Today, Cherry class became news reporters ready to create an newspaper article on a heroic/villainous battle. Half of us were reporters whilst the other half were eyewitnesses to the battle. As reporters, we asked lots of questions to build up a picture of what had happened. Then, we created speech bubbles with eyewitness’ statements written on them. Tomorrow we use these speech bubbles to practice writing with quotation marks.
Today was our heroes and villains day!
We had a lot of fun dressing up as different heroes and villains. As part of the day, we played a few rounds of Captain America/Ladybird Girl says before having a go at relay races as part of hero/villain bootcamp. Unfortunately, the rain came and we had to go back inside our classroom. We did not let the rain dampen our spirits as we then continued our PE lesson inside performing superhero dances.
Later on, we had a look at real life heroes and had a discussion of how each hero had impacted the world before placing them onto a timeline.

Today, Cherry class have been stretching out their muscles through yoga. We listened to The Twits by Roald Dahl whilst we performed our yoga. We had a lot of fun being the monkeys, painting the ceiling as a giraffe and being Mr Twit himself. Afterwards, we had a little yoga disco!
It’s the final week to a very strange year. It has been very quiet with pictures this week in year 5 but the year 5s have still been working hard.

This film is a sequel from Avengers: Infinity War, which ended on a note of suspense, so I was curious to discover what happens next. I hoped that all characters previously introduced would be involved as it was the last movie (in chronological order) already made.
~Science Fiction~ Action~ Superheroes~
I think that this movie is science- fiction because it is related to time- travel and advanced technology; whilst it is also Superheroes because those are the main characters- such as Captain America, Hulk, Thor and Ironman.
Unlike Avengers: Infinity War, not all superheroes are shown due to the fact that half are erased from the Universe and the other half attempt to bring them back:
Ironman, Hulk, Thor, Antman, Black Widow, Hawk- eye and Captain Marvel are most of the main Superheroes included.

Emily has also been really busy creating instructions on how to build a time machine. When Emily built her time machine and fast forwarded to 10 years into the future, she ended up the Amazon rainforest. To share with everyone what she has learnt during her visit, she has created a leaflet with many pictures and lots of colour!
Year 5 have been time travelling this week. Before they could jump into a different time period, they needed a machine to help them get there. Year 5 have been very resourceful using whatever they could find around school and home.

21st May 2020
It’s Thursday morning and I’ve just arrived. I’m so excited to see the future but now I am here it is all a little overwhelming. I can feel my knees knocking together as I shake timidity (clunk! clunk! clunk!). The view around me is unlike anything I have seen before. It is leaving me a little dazed and confused. The journey here was as quick as a flash and it took me a while to catch my breath. Arriving in this new and bold world has made me feel as timid as a mouse. The skyline is full of buildings (of all shapes and sizes) and trees. Some as high as a mountain, others more like the size of a normal two storey house you would find in the past, in my world.
In the distance I can see a (bright yellow with black wings) car flying towards me! Yes, flying. My nerves are forgotten as I positively buzz with excitement – my whole body is covered in goosebumps. As it lands I realise that it is like a New York taxi from the past – just new and shinier with wings!
I look into the distance and suddenly realise that there are more of them – they are all around me – it’s an unbelievable sight. Some nearby, but others far away. They are flying in all directions: North; South; East and West. I thought the air would be filled with noise but it is not. There are no engines roaring like lions. They do not sound the same as they do in the past. The noise is nothing more than a gentle whisper floating in the breeze and there is no stinky smell at all!
I step into the taxi (the driver is very welcoming) and whoosh I am suddenly off into the sky – I have to take a moment to catch my breath. I am instantaneously at the top of the world and everywhere I look the (ultra modern) buildings shimmer in the sunlight. Flying transportation (of all shapes, sizes and colours) gives the impression of being drawn to the tops of the buildings like a moth’s to a flame. I sit back (feeling a little foolish for being so apprehensive when I arrived) and happily watch all the excitement unfold. Within no time at all the taxi starts to slowly descend back to the ground. The people walking around stop resembling ants and start to look normal as they slowly come into focus.
In a flash the taxi landed (as soft as a feather) back on the ground. I can’t take the massive grin off my face. I am astonished by the amazing things I have just seen: people as small as insects; buildings as tall as mountains and trees that resemble broccoli sprouts! The flight was (almost) unbelievable so to make sure it wasn’t a dream I pinch myself a few times – ouch, ouch ouch!
I look at my watch and try to comprehend how quickly time has travelled in the future. I suddenly realise how completely exhausted I have become from all the anticipation and excitement of the day. I turn and take one last look at the horizon – breathing in the view and taking a photo for my memory. Then without warning or a single sound I’m blindsided and back in the past.

I went to bed yesterday as a normal day had passed. I brushed my teeth and slipped into my bunny pajamas. Hugged my parents goodnight and hopped to my room where I jumped on my cosy bed. I sat there for a while admiring the beauty of my newly painted room. I stopped after a while and tucked under the covers where I fell asleep… But when I woke up I found myself in a pitch black room with one single lime green door. “Uh Oh” I thought. I slowly arose
from the black floor. I shouted for help but my voice just echoed in the tall room. It could burst your eardrums. When I got the brave enough I opened the lime green door and before me was…
June 18th 2020:
As I stepped into the new time machine (it was shockingly expensive to make) I thought “that’s a queer thing!” and it was, the time machine had odd arms and a lot of time portal openers that were knives which cut through the seams of the universe into the future. Inside it had buttons that told the machine to go to different places at different times so I pressed the buttons to go to the future, 15th December 5050 to be exact. So the Time Machine got to work cutting through the bonds of the universe into the future. When it had finished there was only a swirling sphere of colour where my driveway used to be , I drove the time machine into the hole and I appeared in the future.The time machine was broken which was a significant setback but when I turned away there was a city, a very busy city, beautiful, aquamarine water glistened with pride as humans of all shapes and sizes chatter loudly; the whoosh of flying cars finds my ears. Beyond fields of green, Towering skyscrapers that make Mount Everest look like a squirrel in comparison; get swerved by flying cars of all shapes and sizes. The futuristic humans were walking along the walkway between the river and the sea. I started towards the walkway but a man stopped ny I felt scared. He actually lead me to a hotel from which I am writing to you from good night.
18th June 2020
Eagerly, I waited for the time car to pull up. As I was playing War of Thunder, (I was on a very hard level) a shiny gold and black car shaped like a Lamborghini, pulled up and as the blacked out window slowly descended I saw that the person driving was wearing a diamond necklace and dark glasses. He turned and looked at me and said ‘ Get in the car now’. As I did, the car‘s doors shut slowly and music turned on. He revved the engine and then we flashed into the sky above the clouds, higher and higher until suddenly we dropped down and down, until a runway was just in sight, as we darted towards it, I thought we were going to crash and indeed we did but luckily no one got injured and the car burst into flames. I was wondering where this was going to lead to…

Year 5 have spent the last few weeks learning about poems and poetry devices so they could write their own poems about visiting another planet. All the pupils have worked really hard researching about their planets and bringing them to life through personification, similes and metaphors.

The sky reminds me of stars,
Acting really bright.
Mercury the ball of paint,

The gigantic noise that came from the jets,

in search of a shopping spree,

I land beside you standing outside your door.
My feet steadily touched dear Neptunes yard,
I felt myself shivering as I moved around.
No wonder she was hiding in her tiny, grey house,
I saw her peeping out her boarded window,
I waved and she disappeared.
I began exploring her planet,
But then I heard something,
I walked to the noise and saw a kitten
with one eye like a cyclops.
I picked it up and saw its collar,
its name was Neptune Jr. I put it on the dusty, blue ground and
it hopped and skipped around before
disappearing in Neptune’s bedroom window.
It’s time to say goodbye to this planet,
I must go back to Earth,
Neptunes eyes glowing with tears as her
only friend leaves,
As my rocket takes of she cries,
I’ll be back I shout from inside.
I’m now travelling through space again,
I see the other planets talking and chatting.
I begin to cry.
Goodbye Neptune. Hello Earth.
The sky is lit up by the light of the moon,
a few twinkling stars dancing through the night sky,
the moon is a fascinating thing you see,
a beautiful sight to be seen by you and me,
a saucer of milk floating in the gloomy, dark sky,
it dances through the night,
like a ballerina dancing on a big stage
looking down at her audience ,
the moon makes me feel so sleepy
as sleepy as a hedgehog ready to hibernate.
The rocket fires up, rattling, shaking and roaring like a giant beast awaking from his sleep,
shaking like a leaf I am thrust through the atmosphere
in a colossal towering rocket,
earth hanging in the distance like it’s being held by an invisible string,
stars shooting past so fast like they’re being fired from a gun,
then there it is I stare in awe 4.53 billion years old,
The Moon……and then deafening silence.
As I step out onto the grey, dusty surface of the magnificent moon,
the emptiness of this desolate atmosphere hits me,
I feel as sick as a dog as I hear the echoing of wolves crying in the distance,
moon dust puffing up beneath my feet,
like a smoke machine being turned on,
adrenalin swishing through my nervous, shaking body,
hundreds of craters cover the surface,
I float around them like a balloon bouncing in the wind.
Tired and ready for home,
I leave my friend behind,
the engines rumble,vibrate and erupt like a volcano beneath me,
streams of stars shoot past me illuminating the dark atmosphere,
closer and closer I get and there I see it, a blue ball with swirls of colour,
home to you and me.
The Glossy Silver Moon
The moon the moon is shining up there
The moon can be seen by a wild bear
The moon can be seen anywhere
Even in Australia where they will be asleep
Where they won’t hear any cars beep
The moon cannot be seen in the ocean deep
It is like the moon whispers to you in your sleep
To tell you it’s time to sleep
And not to weep
Travelling through space at the speed of sound
Where you’re heading to the moon, all round
Where no king will be crowned
If you look down you’ll see the ground fading
with people underneath you looking up and waving
it might feel like you’re racing
The earth is looking as small as a pea
on my way there i will be having my tea
In my rocket I feel like a pea…
…in a pod
The moon looks like an elephant grey golf ball
Floating in space like a puffa fish in a pool
Once I’ve landed on the moon I won’t be using any rocket fuel
You will realise that you don’t live on a flat land
The base of the moon may feel like dry sand
When you step off the rocket on to this new land
All I can hear is black silence, all i can see is mother earth
Lonely like a leaf blown off a tree, all i can feel is dizzy from the low gravity
Now that I’m on the moon a new adventure shall begin
Looking around and all I see is darkness upon me
No aliens to be found but yet to see
Now I take my first steps successfully
Nothing to hear, nothing to smell except the suit I am in
Movement is tough you feel like a robot
Every step is like going through mud, wading
Being lonely is not fun, nobody to talk to
The adventures I’m having are extraordinary
The experience is priceless, but if you get stuck there is no one to help you
I’m travelling in my spaceship on my way home
I can see the stone grey moon where I’ve just been
Spinning around like a stuntman in a movie scene
Now that I am landing it felt quicker than reality
It was fun up there, but no fun alone
I had an amazing adventure, but now I’m back home
Stepping out of the spaceship the high gravity makes me dizzy
Up on the moon I was never that busy
Back to my home to see my wonderful friends and family
Disco Dancing Moon……..
When I see the Moon arrive..
Her face is glowing like a flamboyant disco ball. Sparkling bright in the ebony night sky. Sometimes I can’t see her, where she is hiding..
But when she does appear, it makes me think of birthday times, dancing around in the disco room.
I feel happy and calm when she appears.
It is my call to bed time, which I think I will ignore, as I’d love to join the party
and have a joyful bash.
She wears a dazzling party dress. As she parties the night away.
I’m in a more casual suit, my pajamas. Every night to her is like an academy award show. Dazzling twinkly stars surround her.
Her enemies are the marshmallow clouds that hide her beautiful face, from the human eyes.
She brightens up the night, like a lightbulb lightens up your room.
When it is night she appears, she illuminates and shows the way for our nocturnal friends.
After her wakeful night, you can even sometimes see her sleeping in the day.

Round Beautiful Moon
The moon is as round as a football
The moon shone like a light bulb
The moon’s surface is dusty as a dust ball
The moon is as old as dinosaurs
You can move on the moon like a piece of paper falling from a height
The moon is as white as snow
The moon’s surface looks like sand paper
The journey to the moon as is like a roller coaster
Travelling to the moon is takes a long time like a queue waiting for a new ride
The moon is as lonely as a forest
The moon is as deserted as a building site

Bonsai have been really busy this week and here is some more fantastic home learning.
Harry has been resourceful by using lego to create a space rover that could travel over the hostile environments of other planets.
Lucas has also been resourceful by using what he could find around his home to build his spacecraft.
Anya has been busy being a journalist and reporting on the 1969 moon landing.
Dora has been a space engineer, thinking carefully of what a space robot may need in order to explore unknown worlds.
Jess has been busy crafting a moon and stars from salt dough and painting stones from her garden.
Maisie has created a poster explaining the important facts about the space race!
She has also been researching a little bit more about the moon.
Seth has been using the items he can find in his garden to play sudoku, noughts and crosses and he challenged his parents to finish a 5×5 grid.
Using images from space, Isaac has been able to identify different features of planet Earth.
Bonsai have been incredibly busy this week, as well as completing all the work you see above, Bonsai have been scientists; testing ways to make their spacecraft launch, been bakers and poets.
Bonsai have been busy creating wonderful pieces of learning.
Lottie has been a 1960 journalist and published a newspaper article on the moon landing.
Isaac became a scientist and experimented using different objects the effects of gravity and why different objects may fall quicker than others.
Honey has written a wonderful poem about planet Earth and she made sure it was the best possible work she could produce by editing and redrafting. Well done Honey!
Maisie has kept busy by learning a new skill, examining flowers under a microscope on her daily walks and keeping in contact with her friends from school.
It has been lovely to see how you’re keeping busy whilst at home. I can’t wait to see what you get up to next week!
Bonsai have been very busy this week with all sorts of activities! It has been great to see so many of Bonsai really getting involved in their learning and other activities.

As part of our space topic, year 5 have been learning about poetry in literacy. They have been looking at a variety of poems and their features. Year 5 have now begun to write their own. Here are the first verses to their planet poems:
The moon’s warm, kindly face stares down on me,
Her starlit throne hanging in the inky sky.
She pokes her head through the curtains of bedrooms across the world,
Dispelling nightmares and welcoming sweet dreams,
A bright beacon ,as bright as the sun, dangling in the sky, guiding me.
Purple planet how big you are
How graceful you are
How clever and amazing you are
High up in the sky
Far and bright big and bold and out at night
I look at you and feel nice
Your purple embrace
Fills me with faith
My favourite place at night
I wait till days go by
To sit at night just to say hi
My purple planet how i wounder about you day and night
The sky is dark like a light has been turned off
it is like turning my light of to go sleep
a beautiful moon appears and it’s not just any moon
it’s my moon, i look up at her and she says goodnight
my moon she smiles at me and gives me a wink
when its day she groans and because she doesn’t want to see me
go and play without her, I feel happy like someone’s always there for me
she’s like me I want to puta blanket round her because she is so cold she is 123c.
When I come out at night I see her hiding in her house,
Sad and alone , she looks so small and afraid like a mouse,
When the morning light fills the sky she sits and waits,
She hides and cries but no one hears her,
In her little house so blue and dark she lies waiting for someone,
But no one comes,
I feel so unhappy, like a sad movie
She’s dejected with no friends.
When I stand here on Earth she is 4.5716 billion km.
The sky so big and black Neptune shines like a juwel,
where does it start where does it end.
The blue like the sea but with no start no end,
As Neptune parties the clouds go on and on.
It giggles in the day and sleeps through the night,
Neptune is 4.5717 km away how I wonder.
The smooth blue sky the secrets it hides not visible from Earth .
But, beyond there are planets far away.
With the Uranus’s birth.
Is only 3.1129 billion kilometers away from us.
Uranus looks like a bue shot hit him .
But if you were on him you would feel very dim.
However, in the sky he likes to play hide and seek.
As the planet on its side gets ready to sleep, you may get a peek.
Uranus feels like a love shot into your heart.
However as he’s gas if stand him you would fall right through just like a fart.
Mars the red planet,
Velvet rocky and silent.
For where the volcanoes erupt,
For where the asteroids smash.
Life existed one time before,
But now the red planet is nothing no more.
Except frozen lakes,
And everything crumbles.

Lyla went a step further and has already written her entire poem:
I look up at the twinkling sky,
Your shining light will never die,
You’re a speck of light like a torch in the air,
You are one of a kind not just rare,
You are a shining firefly in the Milky Way,
You’re a beating heart to show me the way,
When I went to see thee, butterflies erupted in my tummy,
I really did want my mummy,
I saw your illuminated kind face beaming down at me,
Nothing like a little bee.
Now I fly up into the stars,
But why be trapped behind monotonous bars,
When you could go and visit Mars?
I flew across your golden glow,
How you got so big I wouldn’t know.
I heard the stars whisper as quiet as a mouse, some 1.472 billion km was my house!
I saw you, a planet Knight on a mighty steed of stars,
As fast as a lightning bolt you streak across the blazing stars.
Yes there you were as I sped across the sky, a bullet in an inky black abyss.
I saw your smile a ring wrapped around you like a ball with a belt,
I flew past the sun and I thought I would melt,
I stretched out my hand your touch as rough as fresh bark from a tree,
Yet up close you’re as huge as eternity.

Lots of pictures have been sent in of all the wonderful home learning Bonsai have been doing. It is also great to see so many of you taking your learning outdoors to enjoy some sunshine!
Bibi has been busy creating colourful drawings on her front path and the pavements to bring smiles of those out on their daily walks.
Mia, Jess, Ruby and Lucas have been very resourceful this week by using different objects found around their homes to recreate the planets in our solar system!
Jess has also been busy helping around the house by making cups of tea and planting sunflowers with her sister. Jess did also find some time for a bit of PE on the trampoline.
On top of all this, Bonsai have been busy learning all about space and our solar system.
Maisie created a fantastic timeline in Google Docs of the pioneering Galileo Galilei, whose ideas where very controversial at the time.
Another pupil has been busy researching about our solar system and created this wonderful fact file.
Lucas has been very creative with his sole work about space by including glow in the dark stars, so you can even read his work at night.

Over the past week, Bonsai have been sharing their work; it has been wonderful to see all the amazing learning that has been taking place at home. Please feel free to share any pictures of your work or any other activities that you’ve been doing whilst at home.
Jess has drawn a beautiful picture of one of her characters for her myth. She looks very powerful the picture is beautifully coloured in!
Additionally, Jess has draw a picture of Egyptian head piece worn by Nemes as part of her SOLE.
Evie has created a informative Powerpoint all about our solar system as part of our new topic; stargazers.
Finally, Maisie has been busy writing an Egyptian myth. She has used many synonyms and up-levelled her vocabulary to make her writing more interesting!
Under the unbearable Spanish heat, lived a magnificent and powerful queen. She was well loved by all her people , she brought life back to her kingdom after the previous rulers got overthrown by a new dynasty. Queen Esperanzo was well loved and admired by all except one, Esperanzo’s older brother Encanto. He lurks in the dark sinister shadows of his younger sister who owns the celebrated title of Queen. Even though Encanto is older by 5 years he is not King because he was not the first sibling in the royal family to get married. If his 14 year old sister Princess Belenza had married first she could have been Queen before him too. The young beautiful Princess Belenza despised her evil ,sinister brother and always knew he hated their raven haired affectionate sister /queen and always knew that he was planning an evil deed in his mind , and he what an evil deed it was going to be.

We were very lucky today to have a music lesson based on our topic. We first listened to Egyptian music and identified the different instruments we could here. Then we composed our own Egyptian piece of music in small groups. It was very loud but we had a lot of fun!
We were very lucky in Bonsai today as we had Mr Milson from TCS visit. We learnt a lot about how to perform rolls safely and how to perfect them like a gymnast. We also had a go at counter balances and counter tension moves. At the end, we were very lucky and got to go on the apparatus. We have a lot of fun and can’t wait for next week!
This we are looking at the suffix ‘ly’ to root words. To help us learn the spellings, we played a game with our partners. We had to roll a dice and if our counter landed on a ‘word card’ space our partner challenged us to spell the word on a card, if we got it correct we earned a point. We really enjoyed playing!
