Today we explored what we already know about ‘weight’. We knew to use words like ‘heavy’ and ‘light’ and that scales can be used to measure the weight of objects.
After further exploration, we discovered that heavy objects make balance scales go down and light objects make the scales go up. We all had a go at being balance scales and had fun using giant scales and smaller ones to consolidate our understanding and to develop our use of comparative language like ‘heavier’ and ‘lightest’.
What can you find to weigh at home and what different scales do you use?
