Today we were set the challenge to show and explain how many frogs would be in a pool if there were 10 and one jumped out.
Many of the children knew the answer but explaining their reasoning was more of a challenge. Some chose cubes to demonstrate, some used Numicon and others wrote the numbers down. A large part of the new Maths curriculum is about children explaining their reasons and proving their thinking. We will continue with our Maths talk throughout the year.
