In science today, we discussed the importance of sun safety. We talked about why it’s important not to look at the sun and different ways we can keep safe. We then had some special beads that we needed to keep safe from the sun. We would know if the sun’s light energy had reached them because they would change colour.
We thought about different ways of doing this such as:
- under sunglasses
- in the shade
- covering them up (in different ways)
- in water
This led us to other questions as well. We wondered if covering them in shiny paper would be better as it might reflect the sun away. We wondered why the suncream didn’t work as well as we expected.
What would you try?
