Year 5 and 6 – World Book Day!
Today the team got into the spirit of things and dressed up to celebrate World Book Day. Anthony Browne was our inspiration and this is what we came up with.
Can you guess who’s who?
Today, we learnt about different features of a diary and began to write a diary entry as an animal in the zoo (orangutan). We wrote in the first person and included:
- commas to mark clauses
- brackets
- apostrophe for contraction
- exclamation marks
- capitalisation for emphasis
- sarcasm
- allitteration
Check out our fantastic writing below:
Today we explored new vocabulary linked to our writing experience based on Anthony Browne’s Zoo. We used dictionaries to find out the meanings of the different words before using the words during our role play to describe how the animals may feel in their zoo enclosures.
