Anti-bullying workshop Year 1 7.11.17
Today in year 1 we had a workshop on anti-bullying. We watched a puppet show with the theme ‘All different, all equal’ and we learnt about the importance of respecting others and always being kind.
The children really enjoyed the show and we had lots of discussion back in the classroom about what the show was about and what we have learnt from this.
What was your favourite part of the workshop?
Can you remember what we learnt from the workshop?
Anti-bullying week is here and what a start we had on Friday with the amazing Bigfoot Arts Education team!
We watched a thought provoking assembly performance and identified different forms of bullying and what we can do to make a difference.
We were reminded that bullying happens over a long period of time and is not just about when someone says one unkind thing to us.
Thank you Bigfoot, for once again coming to visit us and leaving us all with some very powerful messages and reflections during the assembly and class workshop sessions.
How are you going to be the best you, you can be?
How are you going to stand up to bullying?
How are you going to show the Power for Good?
The children thoroughly enjoyed an interactive experience whilst taking part in The Big Foot Theatre Company’s story telling performance. We learnt about very “rude”, “nasty” and “mean” creatures living in the woods who didn’t make good choices whilst taking part in a talent show. As the audience, the children had to suggest ways to be a good friend and our best answers were about saying kind things, sharing and listening to our friends. All our ideas were collected in an Autumn blanket to take to the story tree to help others. It was such a brilliant start to our anti-bullying week next week.
