NED
This afternoon Willow class attended the NED assembly, where we all learnt three very important values.
N= never give up
E= encourage others
D= do your best
Nicole was the NED speaker, she has travelled all the way from the USA. Nicole showed us some amazing yoyo tricks whilst telling us a story about aliens, fairgrounds and travelling the world !
This morning, the whole school was fortunate to have the visitor of Dr Bert Bond from Exeter University. He talked to the children about the importance of a healthy lifestyle, which included sports/exercise and diet. He explained the connection between these and how they can lower the risk of heart disease in later years.
They learnt so much, including sophisticated vocabulary including: cardiovascular and physiologist.
Can you remember what these terms mean?
After a week of hard work and resilience shown towards their SAT’s tests, the pupils of Year 6 were presented with their leavers’ hoodies in assembly this morning.
The children were each surprised with a hoodie, complete with the whole year group’s names on the back, ready to take on residential next week. There were smiles all round and a sea of happy faces can be seen!
Thank you to the governors for kindly funding the hoodies.
What a great way to start World Book Week at Hazeldown School with a visit from Bigfoot Theatre Company! A fantastic and interactive assembly where all children were fully engaged!
Look out for posts later today of classes having workshops with the talented Bigfoot actors!
