Year 3 Swamp Walk – Escot – 27.6.18
One of our highlights of the trip – the swamp walk! Lots of fun was had by all the children – and adults too! It definitely cooled us down after a hot day!
Wow, year 3 have had a fantastic couple of days at Escot. We have seen lots of different animals including otters, wild cats, owls and wolves. We also completed the swamp walk showing great resilience to keep going! In the evening, we toasted marshmallows and sang songs around the campfire. On our second day, we got lost in the maze, went down the drop slide and tried out lots of different activities in the Saxon village.
LOST PROPERTY: There are lots of items of clothing, hats, towels etc. that have been collected from Escot and from outside of school when the coach dropped us back. Please have a look outside of Cherry Class if you have forgotten/lost anything.
Year 3’s second day at Escot was a rather muddy one! They braved the incredibly muddy swamp walk and squelched their way through! Additionally, they all learnt some bush craft skills, making shelters and creating fires.
Well done Year 3 for completing your first residential visit – you were brilliant and showed so many of our school’s learning values! You should all be very proud of the way you tackled so many new experiences!
Year 3 have enjoyed a brilliant first day at Escot. They’ve travelled back in time to become Anglo Saxons, meeting the blacksmith, the woodworker and the cook. They’ve made flour, bread, coins and name badges. They’ve also foraged for food and seen animals including lynxes, wild boar and wild cats.
We’re now wrapping up warm for a campfire!
We had a fantastic time at Escot. Here are a few pictures of the exciting activities that we partook in! More to follow tomorrow.
