I like you because…. 09/07/18
This afternoon, Fir class have been thinking about all the reasons why we like each other. It was funny (and a bit embarrassing!) being paid compliments but it was nice to hear what people like about us!
Today has been an awesome but VERY muddy day! Orange and Yellow groups spent the morning on the low adventure course, which included mud and river walks. The mud was so deep that some of us lost our shoes!! Fortunately, all shoes were retrieved and we all managed to safely complete the course. The smiles in the photos tell you just how much fun we’ve had!
Lots of children in Fir Class have made a fantastic start to the term and are already climbing the reading tree! How many more can get of the ground in the next few days I wonder?
Today Fir Class have been testing the strength of different magnets. First we had to design a fair test to find out the strength of each magnet. Then we predicted which magnet would be the strongest after which we carried out our experiment. Our predictions were not always correct!
The sun is shinning for our re-scheduled World Book Day! The children look wonderful, dressed in their character costumes. Fir class really enjoyed reading their favourite stories to the Foundation Stage children. Which book characters can you spot?
Congratulations to the children in Fir Class who have started climbing the Reading Tree this week! Keep up the good work! Who can join them next week?
Fir Class are really enjoying their Graffiti Workshop with Krishna. Lots of laughter over funny elephants, snakes and a cyclops! I wonder what our finished boards will look like?
This afternoon Fir class took the parachute out to the field to play some games. We played Cat and Mouse and some ball games. We really had to use our skills in TEAM WORK and COLLABORATION to make the ball bounce high! We finished by all sitting underneath a giant mushroom!
Today Fir class have been exploring, through Role Play, our Social Bond and thinking about what it means to us.
Today team 2 experienced a Chinese School Day. The children had a go at Chinese Maths, Chinese Calligraphy, using chop sticks and trying different Chinese food. All the children really enjoyed it and hopefully their knowledge will help with the topic about China!
Here are some of the photos from Fir Class’ day:
