Year 6 French- Holly Class
Year 6 have been learning how to read and write the well-known story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ in French.
Pupils have been learning the key phrases by creating vocabulary trees and have re-told the story using the app Tellegami.
Today, in Oak Class, we have been finding out the French translation for what we want to be when we grow up. Can you guess what we want to be? Capitalise d’un navire, chanteur, gymnaste, agriculteur.
During the first two days back, year 3 have been having lots of fun on our French themed days. We made Breton biscuits, which are popular in Brittany, learnt how to greet each other, played a game to practice numbers in French, wrote some sentences in French and then created boxes for our biscuits.
During the first two days back, year 6 have been learning about some of the festivals celebrated in France. Some of which have included:
Jour de l’An (Bonne Annie), L’Epiphanie and La Chandeleur
They have learnt some of the key phrases relating to the food eaten at the festivals.
In addition to the language skills, children have also made Breton Biscuits which are popular in Brittany.
Cherry Class have combined their French and Chinese learning today! They practiced counting to ten in French, while using chopsticks to pick up pasta!
