Metacognition at Hazeldown. 1st April 2021. Year 5.
This week at Hazeldown, we have been continuing to develop our metacognitive understanding in the classroom and on the playground. Using our cycle of metacognition phases, we have given ourselves time to reflect on all aspects of school life including: our friendships, our learning and our own progress. We understand that reflecting on the decisions that we make can not only have a positive impact on moving our learning forward, but can also help us to understand social situations that we might encounter during the school day and improve relationships.
We can’t wait to get back to Grenville House with our Year 6 pupils next term! The stormy seas last year made the coasteering even more exciting! Our children demonstrated our values of risk taking and resilience whilst they battled through the rain and hail.
Hi All, we are live on social media. Come and take a look!
Last night, children, parents and staff from Hazeldown entered the Teignmouth Carnival. The energy was infectious, the enthusiasm was great and everyone had smiles on their faces!
What made it even better was….We Won!!
Well done everybody that took part and a massive thank you to all the parents that supported us, we couldn’t have done it without you!
Hazeldown – A school to be proud of!
What a great way to start World Book Week at Hazeldown School with a visit from Bigfoot Theatre Company! A fantastic and interactive assembly where all children were fully engaged!
Look out for posts later today of classes having workshops with the talented Bigfoot actors!
