Year 1, Internet Safety, 13.7.17
Kim and Lee taught us all about keeping safe online. We then had circle time and discussed how we can help keep each other safe, how we keep safe at home and how we keep safe at school. We also talked about how great the internet can be for our enjoyment and to help our learning.

Year 4 had the opportunity to go down TCS and watch a theatre group perform a play about Internet Safety. ‘In the Net’ was about a young girl called Dotty who wasn’t very safe. She then went on a journey meeting characters like Icon, Password, Uh-oh, Virus and Spam. These characters helped her escape the net and being safer whilst online.
On Tuesday morning this week, we were incredibly lucky to have PC Michelle Buckley and PC Colin Rider visit our class and run a workshop on how to keep safe when we are playing games and using various websites and apps on the Internet. We went through different scenarios and were given examples of things to look out for to keep us safe. We were also reminded about the use of age appropriate games and the dangers linked with having social media sites whilst we are still underage.
All of of us came away feeling a lot more confident about how to be safe when we are online.
