Key Stage 2 Carol Concert – Sneak Peak! 14/12/16
Key Stage 2 spent the day down at St Michael’s Church today rehearsing for tomorrow’s carol concerts. Here’s a sneak peak at some of the delights which await the lucky audiences tomorrow!
Today the Weather Watchers club met for the the first time. We went outside and looked at what we could see. We found red and brown leaves which had fallen off the trees then we looked at the range of clouds which were overhead and learnt their names. We saw Cirrus clouds and Stratus cloud layers. After looking outside we came inside and read the weather from our weather station. The air temperature was 9’C; wind direction North West and humidity was 79%.
Look out next week for another forecast!
We are now at the halfway point in the race to reach our class reading targets this term! Holly Class are just about holding on to their early lead with 69% of their class target reached. Hot on their heels are Monkey Puzzle Class with 68%, with Cherry Class in third place with 60% of their target complete. Joint fourth is held by Ebony Class and Fir Class on 58% with Oak Class exactly half way on 50%. Bringing up the rear are Bonsai Class and Redwood Class both with 47% of their target reached.
Help your class along by doing lots of reading over half term and quizzing on our return to school on Monday 31st October.
Happy Reading everyone!
This afternoon, Key Stage 2 watched as their teachers attempted to spell some VERY complicated words in the first ever Hazeldown School Spelling Bee! The children will compete in their own Spelling Bee next week!
