Year 2 have been looking at multiplication. We know that the words times, multiple, groups of and lots of can all be used. We have been looking at making arrays. What repeated addition number sentence could you also write for them?
We have been working in multiplication. We have been creating numbers sentences and arrays. We could then could the groups in 2s, 3s, or 10s.
We have been solving multiplication problems using various methods.

Palm Class got to grips with some very interesting vocabulary today.
In small groups, we had to read, interpret, understand and classify a wide range of multiplication and division words.
We discussed what we thought the words meant and identified other words with a similar meaning.
We spotted that ‘times’ and ‘multiply’ can be used in the same way. How could you use these words in a multiplication number sentence?
We also discussed why ‘repeated addition’ must be part of the multiplication word list too. Can you explain why?
