Year Two, Mega Maths, 4.11.16
Today we explored the problem of finding as many ways to partition the pegs and what the number sentences we could create if each peg had a value of ten.
How many ways did you find?
What was the total of the sum each time?
Will it always be the same? Why?
Today, Willow class learnt about partitioning. They found out that two digit numbers are made up of two different numbers.
15 is made from 10 and 5. We can show that as:
10+ 5 = 15
37 is made from 3 tens and 7 ones so
10 + 10 + 10 + 7 = 37
