Year 1 and 2 – Children of the World Christmas Performance
A huge well done to all the children in year 1 and 2 for their fabulous Christmas performances this year. The children performed Children of the World, based on the different ways that children around the world celebrate Christmas.
They began by welcoming their audience with a sneaky preview of some of the hits from the performance.
Year 2 angels.
Children from China.
Children from Australia having a barbie!
Children from the USA.
Mary and Joseph look after baby Jesus.
Well done everybody and thank you to all who supported the show, by helping to create the children’s costumes and coming to watch their performance.
Summer Term Performance iCan 7th of the 7th @ 7pm.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope by now that you are aware of our hugely exciting news, that at 7pm, on the 7th day of the 7th month, July, the lights will go up at the Princess Theatre Torquay for “iCan”, our summer variety production!
As mentioned in my previous letter and Blog, this performance is a chance to boost the aspirations of our children and really help them reach for the stars; aspiration having been proven through research as one of the key drivers for higher living standards, standards of education and lifelong well-being.
The theatre seats 1,500 people and we know you will fill it to the rafters. 1,200 seats will go on sale to parents, guardians and loved ones with 300 being needed for the children, who are not immediately on stage, to enjoy their show. Details will be released as soon as I have updates from relevant parties. I intend to keep you fully informed along our journey towards “Ican” and as soon as useful information reaches me I will post, email or Blog it to you all.
I am meeting with a local print company this week to arrange our necessary paper products. This will hopefully enable us to put tickets on sale when the children return from Easter break. Having consulted directly with the theatre, but also staff and PTA members, tickets will be set at £4 for adults and £2 for children (18 months – 16yrs). Infants (18 months and under) do not need a ticket but will not be allocated a seat. They may sit on the lap of their responsible adult. These terms have been set in line with the expectation of the Princess Theatre’s guidelines and we hope that you find them agreeable. The show will try to conclude by 21:30 but may extend by a few minutes. This might be a consideration if you have toddlers etc as this will be a very late evening for them and you may choose to make other arrangements for their comfort. Tickets will be sold via the school front office and initially limited to four per family. After a set date, yet to be confirmed, all tickets that have not been taken up will be withdrawn and re-released in a second wave on a first come first served basis. Reservation requests will be recorded on the initial letter. We again thank you for your patience and for your on-going support with this exciting new opportunity for our children. If you do have any further questions then please do come and find Mr Quint or myself directly or ask any member of staff and they will be glad to help you.

Fir class spent the day at TCS’s music department with 5 other schools in the learning community to take part in a music festival. This then prepared them for the evening performance in front of 100s of parents.
Leading up up to the event, Fir class have been learning the violins and have also spent time learning the songs for the mass-choir performance.
The children performed fantastically and even sang their own song ‘Another Day’ which they wrote in the Autumn term.
We are ver proud of everyone involved. Thank you to the parents who were very supportive. Hope you all enjoyed it!
