Plants, Plants, Plants, Year 1 and 2, 24.6.19
Years 1 and 2 have been doing lots of work on plants. They have been learning how to draw them in the style of Georgia O’keeffe. They have learnt language used to describe them and then used this to help them identify different plants. They even used their sorting skills to classify different leaves.
This Year we have planted daffodil bulbs, grass and sunflower seeds. Our daffodils have already flowered. Today we have been sprinkling wild flower seeds and planting beans as well as sweet peas. We have planted some of them inside in trays, so that we can look after them and watch them grow. Hopefully in a few weeks we will plant them outside. Keep a lookout for them!
We have turned into gardeners! We have prepared the soil and planted lots of pansies. We know exactly how to look after the plants as well. We know that they need water, soil and light. We have also been planting cress seeds, so look out to see if they have grown by Friday.
We definitely had to wash our hands when we had finished. What are your favourite plants?
