Year 5 – Yoga!
As part of our PE sessions in Year 5 we have been studying yoga and looking at how it helps us. Yoga is excellent for getting us back into the green zone, filling our muscles with oxygen so we’re ready and energised for learning and providing a sense of zen.
We start with a warm up, then move onto the relaxation pose where we do deep breathing and imagine ourselves in our happy places. This is a great opportunity for reflection. We then work through a series of poses, stretching our muscles and allowing our bodies to feel free.
What a busy morning! We’ve started reflecting upon our half term of learning and we are so shocked and amazed by how much we had actually learnt in such a short time!
Today, year 5 and 6 have been working hard on journaling all their learning for the past half term. They have thought about the challenges they faced, their successes, what skills they have developed and also how they overcame any obstacles.
Year 4 have creatively presented their Greece SOLE work in their SOLE books. In addition to sticking in their work in interesting ways, they have had to learn how to write detailed reflections about the skills and knowledge gained from each activity.
Monkey Puzzle have been journaling and reflecting on all their learning in SOLE….They have all presented their work differently and I have been incredibly impressed with their imagination and enthusiasm on their reflections and presentation. Could you think of where you could use this journaling skill at home?
