Year 6 Breakfast for Champions!
Every day this week, the children have really enjoyed having a bacon bap and glass of orange juice before taking their SATs tests.
It has made each morning this week a memorable experience for the pupils.
Thank you to Booker’s for supplying us with the Bacon and thank you to Morrisons for providing the rolls. It has really made the difference to the children!
Well done to all of year 6 for completing your SATs! You have all demonstrated a super attitude; we are very proud of you.

Thank you to all of the families who attended our Year 2 SATs information meeting on Friday. It was lovely to see you all.
As mentioned in the meeting, here is the short video clip we showed you to help you gain more of an understanding of what SATs is all about and the increased attainment expectations.
A popular website for looking at past SATs test papers is www.satspapers.org.uk. It allows you to download and print the test papers for you to help your child become even more familiar with the style of questions and the raised expectations.
As always, thank you for your continued support and remember you can speak to any member of the Year 2 team if you have any further questions or concerns.
As highlighted in the meeting, when watching the video below it is important to remember that all children will now be taking both reading papers.
Today a group of children looked at Roman numerals. They identified the letters that represented 1, 5, 10, 50, 100 and 1000.
The children independently worked out that they had to find the tens and then the ones separately. An example can be seen below:
99 isn’t IC – 1 less than 100 but in fact is XCIX because XC is 90 and IX is 9.
Have a look at the grid below to help you out! Could you make some addition calculations out of them?
E.g. IV + VII =
