Palm Class – 3D shape fun 12.03.21
Palm Class have spent all week learning about 3D shapes. They have learnt about cubes, cuboids, cylinders and spheres.
Today we had some fun creating cubes, cuboids and pyramids out of spaghetti and marshmellows. Palm Class made some excellent creations and we were really proud of themselves.
In our MEGA MATHS today, we used our knowledge of shape to design and create firework rockets.
We all started off with two rectangles of paper. What other shapes did we use and make?
10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1…BLAST OFF!
Palm and Apple Class have gotten pretty good and answering questions about shapes so today we decided to create our own challenge booklets for other children to answer.

The children started their new learning by identifying different 2D shapes. They were able to use mathematical terminology like irregular and regular as well as discuss their other properties.
