Year 6 Holly Class Debate
To help prepare the children to write their balanced arguments, Holly class participated in a formal debate about whether the local railway line should be redirected.
They came up with many convincing reasons to support the points they were making and had to speak confidently, in a professional manner.
The children have made sure they are being resourceful (one of our learning values) to set them up to succeed during our ‘Big Writes.’
They have used resources such as: ISPACE sheets, dictionaries, spell checkers and word banks.
On Tuesday, Mr Goodenough’s literacy group spent some of their literacy lesson making paper aeroplanes! The pupils initially made their own plane but then had to write instructions for their friends to use when trying to replicate the design. They soon realised that instruction writing is not quite as easy as it seems!
