Year 2. Palm and Apple class. ‘The power of good!’ 18.11.16
We all discussed how important it is to consider the feelings of others. We had endless suggestions of what small gestures and acts of kindness can change people’s entire day – ‘The Power of Good’. The children had some wonderful suggestions on how we could all improve someone’s day by a simple comment or gesture : From opening the door for people to being a friend to someone who is on their own. It was a pleasure to hear all the lovely values and ideas that the children have. We made posters for the class and hopefully the children will be continuing their ‘Acts of Kindness’ at home.
We all take pride in putting work into our Sole books. We choose how to present our work and how to make it look impressive. We then reflect on our work explaining what we have learnt.
We had great fun today acting out the story of Rama and Sita. The children really got into role especially when depicting the Demon King Ravana!
We are all getting extremely good at reading scales. All week we have been measuring weight, temperature, distance and capacity. We have been talking about the different units and how we measure using different resources.
Please encourage your children to have fun with measure at home. Can they weigh the ingredients for baking? How much milk do they have in a glass? What temperature is their bath? Who has the biggest shoes?
