Year 6 – Grenville in the Sunshine!! 21.03.2022
Year 6 have had a fantastic first day at Grenville House Activity Centre in the glorious sunshine. The children have demonstrated some amazing resilience, risk taking and collaboration already; everyone is smiling and having fun.
We cannot wait for tomorrow!!
Today was a day of overcoming fear and showing a great deal of resilience! Throughout the day, all pupils took on the elements during their coasteering activities. Some of the groups were jumping off rocks into a stormy sea during a hail storm- which seems to have become a bit of a Hazeldown tradition at Grenville. We were so proud of them all. They were incredibly brave and so caring towards one another, supporting each other through the challenging times. During the storm, other groups were taking on the high ropes- not allowing the hail to prevent them from carrying out the ‘leap of faith.’
The staff at Grenville have also commented on the lovely manners that our pupils have demonstrated throughout their stay so far. They are all having such a great time, accomplishing things they never thought they could. Parents… you should all very proud!
The evening activities have been great fun and all the children have enjoyed them.
On Monday they got to swim and jump in the lake:
On Wednesday evening, despite the rain, most children headed off to the woods to build shelters and to toast marshmallows on the fire, whilst some stayed back to socialise and play on the games that Colehayes provides
The children are having an amazing time at Colehayes so far! They are loving the activities, loving the house and grounds as well as all the amazing food.
Here are some photos from the week thus far of them conquering fears, building character and resilience alongside developing their teamwork and leadership skills.
It’s been a fantastic 3 days at Colhayes. The children have taken part in a variety of challenges and activities ranging from Kayaking to pistol shooting. It’s been great to see so many children overcome their fears showing resilience and collaboration. Here are some of the photos…
Many more to follow!
Hi parents,
I’m just writing a quick message to say that all of the pupils are absolutely loving the Colehayes residential; unfortunately, staff are struggling to access wifi so have been unable to upload pictures on the school blog! 🙁
They’re working alongside staff at the centre and are hoping to have some images of the various awesome activities that they’re doing posted on the school blog very shortly!
Keep checking the blog for further updates.
