Cherry- Super Spellers- 15.3.21
Today, we had a class competition based on year 3/4 spelling words. We worked collaboratively to choose the correct spelling from multiple choice questions. We needed to be speedy and accurate to hatch our monsters. We loved this so much, we played 4 rounds before going home. We can’t wait to play this again soon!
This week, we started our new topic- Mighty Metals! To introduce our topic, we investigated what forces were needed to make different apparatus on the fit trail move. We discussed that our legs were doing most of the hard work pushing and pulling to make the fit trail move. We even found a piece of equipment that required us to twist! What objects around your house need a force to move? Can you identify which force it is?
Cherry Class are really enjoying learning how to play the P-Bones on Wednesday mornings.
This term, children in Years 3 and 4 have been learning all about vikings. They have learnt about where the vikings came from, how they travelled, what they wore and much more!
We had a fantastic celebration event which showcased all of the spectacular work the children have completed. Thank you to all of the parents are carers who came to share the afternoon with us. What a wonderful day!
As part of the Compass For Life topic, year 3 and 4 spent this afternoon making their inspirational figures out of modroc.
There were a real range of different figures made, including singers, actors, artists, authors, and lots more!
Thank you very much to the parents who came into help with this. We really appreciate it, and the children had a fantastic experience thanks to your help!
This afternoon the children were busy learning a range of new skills. They were designing self portraits in the style of Paul Klee, learning art skills using Shoo Rayner designs, played Hit The Button game to recall multiplication tables and also learned about Scratch – coding to design simple computer programmes.
Year 3 were investigating the three main rock types and how they are formed. They applied their new learning by making posters using pic collage on iPads to explain their new learning. This is the start of 2 day SOLE activities investigating rocks.
