Welcome back and “Me, Myself and I”

Dear Parents, Carers, and Children,

Welcome back! I all hope you have enjoyed the glorious summer weather and had an interesting break from school. This term is going to be hugely exciting with the teachers having busily planned ahead for the coming weeks. On that note, I hope you remember that I wrote to you concerning the whole school topic to which we would return?

It is entitled “Me, Myself and I”

It will be building on our positive feelings from iCan, getting the children to know themselves better, articulate their dreams more clearly and think carefully about how they will work hard to make their dreams a reality in the future.

You can help massively with this learning journey and your support would be hugely appreciated.

I did ask that if you could, over the holiday weeks, please gather together pictures and notes regarding your child/ren’s key life details and significant events people who they have had in their lives. Family photos, family trees, key dates noted down, key events: birthdays, holidays, special events, family meals, memorable school residentials/outings or baby photos etc.

Anything you could send in spare or items that we could photocopy to help your child with their sense of personal history and self, would be hugely beneficial to the standard and detail of work they will be able to produce. If you haven’t managed to have a look over the summer then please start asking and digging now!

Once again thank you for supporting what we are trying to achieve together here at Hazeldown as a school community. Our children are thriving and I sadly can’t better the words of our lead OFSTED inspector

“You have a school to be proud of here!”

We do, we really do and you are an immense contributor to that success, so thank you again.

Finally, I take great pleasure in inviting you to attend our “Me, Myself and I” celebration event on Friday 23rd September from 2:40pm, where the children’s work will be on display throughout their classroom and the wider school. We do very much hope to see you then.

Warm regards

Mr. C Tribble
