|Home Learning Menu|
Over the next 3 weeks you must complete an activity/series of activities that total at least 15 points. How you choose to do so is up to you! For example, you may just complete the fifteen-point activity or may choose to do one ten and a five-point activity; you could also choose to do three five-point activities – it is completely your choice! Have a look at the activity menu below:
*Have a go at this science activity https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhRSSGwrLZA
What do you think is happening?
Write about what you notice. Take photos and write up your findings ready to present in it your SOLE book.
*Research a sea creature of your choice. The more you know about your animal the easier you will find it to write about in school. You should think about how to present your findings. You might make a power point presentation or create your own booklet.
You could start with these questions.
Where does it live?
What does it eat?
What is it?
What special features does it have? For example, can it camouflage?
*Design and create your own sea creature – labelling its special features
*Complete a litter pick on the beach to help protect the oceans. Go with an adult and be careful of the sea and items you might find. Please bring in a picture for your SOLE book.
*Make some different length sea creatures and measure them with a ruler. Which is the longest which is shortest? What’s the difference in length between the shortest and longest? Think about how you can present this for your SOLE book.
*Spend 15 minutes on hit the button – times and divide (2s, 5s, 10s and 3s). https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button
*Can you draw or make a repeating pattern out of sea creatures? What’s the most interesting pattern you can make?
*The rainbow fish is kind and helpful – Tell us 3 ways that you are kind and helpful. Be ready to stick this in your SOLE book. You could also have photos of you showing these kind and caring acts.
*Spend 15 minutes learning these common exception word spellings on this game. http://www.ictgames.com/mobilePage/spookySpellings/index.html
