Ideally, please encourage your child to read every day. The minimum expectation is that your child should be reading for 15 minutes five times a week.
This reading should be a mixture of independent reading / reading alongside an adult.
Design and make a motivational bookmark for your ‘My compass for life’ learning journey. This will be to put in your SOLE books. Here are some ideas to get you started! You will have 2 weeks to complete this task.
In maths we are looking at number sense particularly focusing on place value. We have been looking at partitioning numbers into hundreds, tens and ones. Could you have a go at completing the questions below.
Eg. 425 = 400 + 20 + 5
1) 49 = 40 + ___
2) 125 =_____ + 20 + 5
3) 567 = 500 + ___ + 7
4) 632 = 600 + ____ + ___
Greater Depth Challenge:
Try partitioning a 3 or 4- digit number in different ways: e.g. 457 = 300 + 107+ 50
Also, if you feel confident write a short explanation of how you work out this type of question.
Please note the following change. Spellings to be given out on a MONDAY and tested the following Monday.
This is in line with the new on line Spellodrome programme that we are introducing. Your child will bring home a lspellodrome login(username and password) tonight to be kept safe at home.
More details to follow next week.
