As part of the hook for our new literacy topic on fantasy writing we visited Ness beach in Shaldon. We role played the moment we exited the tunnel into a new fantasy world. Freeze frame activities helped us to feather map a range of vocabulary to describe this moment using all our senses.
Whilst there, we also explored the rock formations as part of our science work. We sketched the cliffs using perspective, shading and cross hatching skills that have been taught by the famous illustrator, Shoo Rayner.
It was a very informative learning trip and we had great fun!!!
