This morning, Year 3 visited a river to see all the features they have been learning about in school.
The children took part in a variety of activities to further their growing knowledge of rivers. The activities included: kick sampling to find creatures that live in the river; taking water and soil samples for further experiments back at school; sensory observations to help with their future poetry writing and finding features like meanders, waterfalls and oxbow lakes.
We had a fantastic morning and all the children were very excited during the activities. They were also very successful find: water boatman, pond skaters, fresh water shrimps and even a mayfly nymph!
