Year 4 Homelearning – 17.11.17

Year 4  Home Learning – Friday 17th November 2017

Reading

Ideally, please encourage your child to read every day for at least 20 minutes. The minimum expectation is that your child should be reading for 15 minutes five times a week. This reading should be a mixture of independent reading and reading alongside an adult.

Maths skills

We will be learning about geometric reasoning so we will be learning about the names of shapes, especially quadrilaterals (4 sided shapes) and triangles. We will also be learning about different angles. To prepare the pupils for looking at these areas in class, please can the children visit some of the websites below, which offer a fun and interactive way to learn about the topic.

Science Pre- Learning

During our next learning journey, we are going to have a focus on science. Ahead of the topic, please support your child in finding all the appliances in your home that use electricity. To show their new learning, your child may wish to list these items, make a poster or cut out pictures from a magazine to make a collage.
