To mark the start of the Year 5 learning journey ‘Off with her head!’, the Year 5s sampled different Tudor foods this afternoon.
They watched a video of what life would have been like in King Henry VIII’s kitchen and listened to Tudor music as they were served many delicacies such as: spiced and sugared meat, eggs in mustard sauce, jumbles (boiled and baked biscuits) and stale bread!
They also compared the benefits of water from a stream or alcoholic drinks such as cider, mead or beer. They were very surprised to hear that children drank them as well!
