Year 5 Victorian Characters 17.1.17

Today Year 5 have been dressing up as different Victorian characters to role-play how different people felt about the development of the railways during the 19th century.

They found that some characters were happy about the railways because it meant their businesses could move goods and coal around quicker.  Others, like inn keepers and canal owners, weren’t because people stopped using their businesses.

In addition to this, every day working class people began to have holidays; using the trains to travel to the seaside.
