Year 6 Home Learning 9.9.16

 Year 6 Home Learning

Friday 9th September, hand in on Wednesday 14th September

Maths

As MangaHigh is so popular amongst you all, we are going to set some challenges for you over the next week.  Please make sure you log on and have a go at the things we set.  Remember!  We can see everything you do or in some cases….don’t do!

(You can come into Ebony Class on Monday lunchtime to complete if you do not have access at home).

Literacy / Topic Learning

Our current topic is Me, Myself and I which is all about exploring what makes us, us! For literacy, we are writing an autobiography detailing key events in our lives, things we are proud, our aspirations for the future etc.

Please can you create a timeline of events for your life that can support your writing.  You can present this how you wish.

EXT:  If you are feeling extra enthusiastic, please have a go at creating a family tree.  Who are your relatives and how are they related to you?

**Don’t forget photos, pictures and paper to cover your S.O.L.E book**

Ongoing tasks

Times tables: Keep practising those times table facts – you need to know all facts up to 12 x 12 inside out, at the click of your fingers! Make sure you are rehearsing these facts regularly, preferably several times a week.

Reading: Remember that you should be reading on a daily basis at home, and should be discussing this reading with an adult – talking about the text, commenting on the author’s purpose, noticing particular features of certain genres, etc. In reading record books, please could children/parents write a comment about this reading.

High frequency words: You need to be practising spellings off the Year 3 and 4 word list and the Year 5 and 6 word list on a regular basis. These are a key focus.
